Stop, Children, What's That Sound: Everybody Look What's Going Down: The Convergence of Records, Information, and Data Governance

In 1967, in the hit song “For What It's Worth,” Dusty Springfield sang: “There's something happening here; what it is ain't exactly clear.”

Today, I’m saying it too, with one important change: what’s happening is clear, and it’s the long-anticipated emergence of data governance into records and information (and vice versa).

This won’t come as a surprise to anyone who understands that all information needs to be governed, be it structured or unstructured. But data and documents traditionally have been handled separately, and this has led to inconsistent policies across the enterprise, increased risks in terms of privacy and information quality, and inefficiencies in operations.

This session draws on recent client experiences to explore what’s driving the convergence of data and information (hint: it’s initials are A and I) and how you can leverage it to maximum effect.
