Noon to 1:00 p.m. - Cyber Security Briefing for Records Managers

This briefing will share the major cyber security trends affecting Colorado local governments, special districts and systems in general. There will be an emphasis on how those risks impact your records and how records teams can partner with IT and cyber security to prepare. We will look at some real-world examples of recent cyber incidents and there will be a resources list to help folks who are without internal cyber security support begin protecting themselves.

Benjamin Edelen is the Chief Information Security Officer of Boulder County, Colorado and chairperson of the Colorado Homeland Security Advisory Committee's Cyber Subcommittee. Benjamin’s program protects his community through the alignment of cyber security and our values, helping people stand together, and by getting the basics right.
