Help us kick off the new chapter year with this in-person chapter meeting.
We are thrilled to have such an exciting start to the 2025 - 2026 Chapter Year. Join us Tuesday, September 9th at South Platte Renew for an in-person education meeting where we will welcome our new board members and start out our education sessions with Travis Austin, Chief Data and Transformation Officer at Flex Energy, as he shares his experience moving from a traditional role in RIM to a leading IT position.
The session will explore Travis Austin’s personal evolution—from foundational work in records and information management at Newfield Exploration to his current leadership role as Chief Data and Transformation Officer at FlexEnergy. This journey exemplifies how the convergence of Records and Information Management (RIM), Information Governance (IG), and Information Technology (IT) is essential to enterprise success. Travis’ experience underscores a powerful message: professionals rooted in traditional RIM must embrace IT fluency and data-centric thinking to stay relevant, drive transformation, and lead in today’s digital landscape. Many of the same core principles still apply—but the tools, context, and expectations have dramatically evolved.

Travis has more than 20 years of IT leadership experience, overseeing technology improvement initiatives and aligning technology solutions with business opportunities to create organizational value. Throughout his career, he has held various positions ranging from Senior Management to Director of Information Technology at Newfield Exploration and Crestone Peak Resources, respectively. He has extensive experience in leading enterprise-wide implementations, field communications, and cybersecurity. Travis graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Business with an emphasis on Informational Systems and has also received a Master’s Degree in Informational Systems with a Certificate of Cybersecurity and Information Assurance.
