This presentation features lessons learned from an Information Protection and Governance (IP&G) Program, which included a highly visible team of 36 colleagues that implemented automated data protection, classification, and deletion rules successfully in the enterprise Microsoft 365 environment. Together, we published 70 custom Sensitive Information Types and 45 Data Loss Prevention policies that applied sensitivity labels to 1.7 million emails and files per month above 95% accuracy. 95% of risks mitigated. 92% of users trained. We also published the first retention and deletion label policies in over a decade. $4 million benefit projected to date.
