Transitioning effectively into the Electronic Records space is a great challenge with great potential benefits. The exponential growth of electronic data, the fact that so much business is conducted electronically and the increasing focus on privacy and information security, among other things, make it important to take a strategic as well as a tactical approach to this transition. Information Governance (IG), Records and Information Management (RIM), Privacy, Information Security and Information Technology best practices must be applied as well as Legal and regulatory requirements. And....All of this must happen within business and information technology landscapes that are constantly changing.
In this session, Susan will share her expertise and insights to help you make this important transition in your organization - regardless of your starting point. Topics that she’ll cover include:
- establishing a business case for transitioning to electronic record-keeping
- achieving executive support and funding
- developing/incorporating electronic records policies
- assessing/enhancing governance structures
- establishing e-records transition teams and work streams
- applying key Legal, RIM and Business requirements for e-records
- conducting technology assessments and certifications
- using training, communication and change management to help ensure success
